Ingredients

  • 4 cups Four
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup Lard
  • 7 grams Baking Powder

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and lard. Utilize your hands, a dough cutter, or a food processor to mix the ingredients until they form a coarse flour-like texture.
  • Incorporate the baking powder and salt into the mixture, ensuring they are well blended.
  • Pour the warm water into the dry ingredients and thoroughly combine them using your hands, ensuring they are well mixed.
  • Once the dough reaches a state of elasticity when touched, proceed by wrapping it in plastic until you are ready to use it.
  • Prepare individual balls by dividing the dough. The size of each ball should correspond to the desired size of your tortillas. To achieve the basic shape, utilize a tortilla press. However, if you prefer thinner and larger tortillas, employ a rolling pin in addition to the press. Experiment to find your ideal thickness and size for your personal preference.
