Ingredients
- 4 tbsp Chili Powder hot or mild to your preference
- 2 tbsp Paprika regular or smoked for a different twist
- 1 Tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Sea Salt too taste
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 3 tbsp Cumin ground
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper ground
- 1 Pinch Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Pinch Red Pepper flakes
- 1 tsp Coriander ground
Instructions
- Carefully measure all the spices and have them ready.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, ground coriander (if using), cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Use a whisk or a fork to thoroughly mix all the ingredients until well blended. Make sure there are no clumps.
- Taste the seasoning and adjust the salt, cayenne pepper, or any other ingredient according to your preference.
- Transfer the seasoning mix into an airtight container, like a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store in a cool, dry place. You can also seal in a vacuum sealer bag for later use.
- Use approximately 2-3 tablespoons of this taco seasoning per pound of meat or vegetables. You can also add it to soups, stews, or casseroles for an extra flavor boost.
Notes
- For a salt-free version, simply omit the salt and increase other flavors.
- Add a tablespoon of cornstarch if you like a thicker sauce when cooking your taco filling.
- Experiment with different types of chili powder for unique flavor profiles.
- For a touch of sweetness, add 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar to the mix.
